Educate a woman, educate a nation and empower a woman, empower a nation welcome to our official website of African Women's Empowerment Forum The purpose of the site is to acquaint you with the aims, objectives and and activities of AWEF. The site also provides an interface between the organisation and the general public. Here our intention is to provide an opportunity for people to have a better understanding of the plights and struggles that facing Asylum Seekers and Refugees on a daily basis The Formation of AWEF Faith Gakanje along with a number of other African women are working hard to change the concept of the need for dependency among African women who are refugees and asylum seekers locally in Nottingham, with an objective in widening the (freedom from dependency) scope regionally and eventual nationally. Faith believe that the strategy of empowerment will not only be of significant benefit to African women refugees and asylum seekers, but also to the wider community. The concept of leading the way in self-development will also contribute to other ethnic group moving towards the same goal and provide enrichment both in economic and community cohesion to the society. |
